The Force struck back through Luke Morahan's try in the 15th minute and by the half-time Rebels managed a slender lead of 10-8.

First minute into the second half, Sefanaia Naivalu touched the line to bring the second try for Rebels though the conversion was missed but Force were equal to the task and Harry Scoble’s converted try meant the scores were levelled 15-15 by the 47th minute.

But the telling moment in the game came when Rebels scored two more tries within eight minutes to stretch the lead to 27-15.

The relentless Force refused to go down as Morahan scored his second try in the game in the 71st minute to bring the difference to just five points but Rebels held their nerve in the tight finish to win the game 27-22.

Rebels managed to retain the third position at the Australian table with 27 points from 12 games while Force are languishing at the bottom with 12 points from as many games.
