Brumbies 47-14 Waratahs, GIO Stadium
Scorecard

Solomone Kata and Tom Wright scored double as Brumbies completed a 47-14 win over Waratahs in their Super Rugby clash at GIO Stadium.

This was also the last game of the round as the Super Rugby season has been suspended indefinitely due to the outbreak of the corona virus.

Brumbies have consolidated the top place in the Australian Conference with 23 points while Waratahs are at fourth place with five points.

Rob Simmons started the proceedings for the visitors with a 12th minute try and Will Harrison kicked the conversion to take Waratahs to a seven point lead before Kata with his second in the 18th minute helped Brumbies level the scores.

The score continued to remain level as Mark Nawaqanitawase and Kata traded tries before Cadeyrn Neville dotted down in the 34th minute to provide the hosts a seven-point lead heading into the break.

Brumbies extended the lead into the second half with Joe Powell strolling over the line in the 45th minute making it to 28-14 and their momentum was boosted with Waratahs losing Jack Dempsey to sin-bin in the 57th minute. Brumbies capitalised on the numerical advantage with Tom Wright going over the line in the 58th minute.

The home side had to play with one player less for most part of the final 10 minutes with Darcy Swain yellow-carded in the 68th minute but despite the setback they capped off the game with tries from Wright (73') and Thomas Banks (80') to complete a 33 point win.
