England wing Jonny May is set to miss the second Test against Australia to be played at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday as he continues to recover from Covid-19.

May tested positive for Covid-19 upon his arrival in Perth and came out of isolation a day before the first Test at Optus Stadium which England went on to lose 28-30.

England defence coach Anthony Seibold said even though May is out of the mandatory isolation period, he is yet to resume full training which casts doubt about his participation in the weekend's game.

"It was a long seven days for Jonny. He's been back on his feet today running, but he didn't join in with the team. It will be a graded return to full training.

"He's in the positional group that I work with – the outside backs. One of the things we tried to do was include him while he was in isolation, so sending the team meetings, the backs unit meetings – so he could give his feedback to the players from afar.

"We've used him as a really experienced Test player. We have a really young group in the backs so he's been bit of a resource for those guys."

Meanwhile, England have already lost the services of Tom Curry for the remainder of the series having suffered a third concussion in six months.
