Ireland head coach Andy Farrell wants his side to continue their winning start in the ongoing Six Nations tournament.

Following Ireland's dominant 38-17 win over France, Farrell commented on their comprehensive 36-0 triumph against Italy at Lansdowne Road, highlighting six changes made from the previous lineup.

This victory marked the first occasion in which Ireland shut out their opponents in the northern hemisphere rugby championship since their 17-0 victory over England in the then Five Nations in 1987.

Despite the remarkable start, Farrell downplays any discussion about potentially achieving back-to-back Six Nations Grand Slams, emphasizing the upcoming home fixtures against Wales and Scotland. Sandwiched between these matches is a daunting visit to Twickenham to face England, who are also eyeing Grand Slam glory following victories over Italy and Wales.

“Obviously with two from two and maximum points etc. 36-0 is a nice scoreline for us,” Farrell told.

“It’s a decent start. It gets tougher from here on in.

“Sometimes you get a little bit too desperate instead of just boxing away with the stuff that we were doing and doing so well.

“But the pleasing thing and it’s pleasing for quite some time now is we’re able to get over those type of setbacks and get on with the job in hand.”

Ireland are positioned at the top of the Six Nations table with two wins from as many games and will be taking on Wales in the third round at Aviva Stadium on 24th February.
