Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has made four changes to his starting XV for the Calcutta Cup clash against England at Murrayfield following last weekend’s defeat to Italy.

Scotland Team Selection For England Calcutta Cup

Nathan McBeth and Gregor Brown come into the pack, replacing Pierre Schoeman and Grant Gilchrist in the starting line-up.

Hooker George Turner starts after Ewan Ashman was ruled out through injury, while Jamie Ritchie returns to the back row with Matt Fagerson moving to the bench.

Schoeman is named among the replacements but Gilchrist drops out of the matchday squad entirely. Scotland have also opted again for a five-forwards, three-backs bench split.

Key Absentees In Scotland Starting XV

There are no Edinburgh Rugby players in the starting side. Darcy Graham remains on the bench, while Blair Kinghorn and Duhan van der Merwe are not included in the matchday 23. Kinghorn has returned to club duties in France.

Jamie Dobie retains his place in the backline and Tom Jordan continues at full-back as Scotland aim to respond to their opening-round defeat.

Scotland will face an England side seeking their first win at Murrayfield since 2020, with the Calcutta Cup rivalry continuing to be a key fixture in the Six Nations calendar.
