Melbourne Rebels have confirmed the signing of flanker Isi Naisarani from Super Rugby rivals Brumbies.

The 23-year-old made his debut in 2015 for Brisbane based club Souths Rugby and his senior debut came with National Rugby Championship side Brisbane city in 2016 and a year later he moved to Perth Spirit.

His first game in Super Rugby came in 2017 for Western Force and he joined Brumbies in 2018 but has now signed a one-year deal with Rebels where he will re-join former coach Dave Wessels.

“It’s been a big two years for me. I’m really excited to get down to Melbourne and team up with Dave at the Rebels. He’s had a big impact on me, and helping me to improve as a player," said Naisarani.

“It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was playing for Brisbane City in the National Rugby Championship but I know that I have to keep on working hard to improve myself as a player.

“The World Cup in Japan is a big dream of mine and obviously to pull on that Gold jersey would be something very special".

Naisarani will be eligible to play for Australia in April next year putting him in the frame for selection in the 2019 World Cup in Japan.
