Wallabies inside-centre Hamish Stewart has re-signed with the Western Force, committing to the club until the end of the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The 27-year-old midfielder, known for his consistency and physicality, has extended his stay in Perth after two strong seasons since joining the Force from the Queensland Reds in 2023.

Stewart made his Super Rugby debut in 2017 for the Reds and has now reached 112 Super Rugby appearances, including 40 with the Force.

His 2024 season was particularly notable, delivering standout performances that led to his long-awaited debut for the Wallabies in a Test against Argentina. He followed that with an appearance for the Australia XV during their England tour in November.

In 2024, Stewart was third in the Nathan Sharpe Medal standings at the Force, registering the fourth-highest tackle count across the competition with 180 tackles and making a team-best 85 carries.

His 2025 campaign continued on strong terms, with 12 games played, 442 carry metres, and 160 tackles. He ranked 10th in the club’s best and fairest count that year.

Force head coach Simon Cron highlighted Stewart’s leadership and on-field impact, calling him a "core member" of the squad.

"He helps drive the standards, expectations and culture in our group. Each week he leads by doing, and he’s a big part of our planning moving forward," Cron said.

\Originally from Toowoomba, Stewart expressed enthusiasm about remaining with the Force.

“I’m really happy to be staying in the west and am excited about what we’re building. I’ve really enjoyed my three years here, working with the coaches and playing alongside close mates,” he said.
