Former England international Shane Geraghty has today signalled his intent to complete his professional career at his original club London Irish after signing a new three-year contract with the Exiles.

The stand-off, now 27-years-old, has committed to the club with a long term deal that suggests he is unlikely to move away from the club.

Geraghty, born in Coventry, was a product of the Exiles academy and has made 71 appearances for Irish between 2004 and 2009.

The playmaker also made six appearances for his country before relations strained with the Exiles as he moved to Northampton in 2009 and then progressed to a brief stint in the Top 14 with Brive.

Alongside Geraghty prop Halani Aulika, scrum-half Darren Allinson and England Under-18s wing Tom Fowlie have all signed new deals today with the club.

This four-strong group to recommit follows George Skivington, Ian Humphreys, David Paice, Jon Fisher and Topsy Ojo in extending their Irish contracts.

Smith, the Irish boss, said that securing another bath of first-team regulars on new contracts underlines the club’s growing after they were taken over last month.

"It's a great way to start the New Year and extremely positive news for the club and our supporters," he told London Irish's official website.

"I'm delighted that all four of them have committed their futures.

"It has been an exciting period for the club off the field and the players are excited by where we want to go on the field.

"Tom Fowlie is going to be a huge part of this club going forward and it is great to see Academy talent coming through the club and going on to represent the first team."
