The Rugby Football Union has confirmed that the final of the 2018/19 season of Tyrrells Premier 15s will be held at Franklin's Gardens on 27th April.

The tournament which was won by Saracens Women in the inaugural edition last year kicked-off on 8th September with a total of 10 teams competing in away and home fixtures.

The top four teams will reach the semi-finals that will be played on 13th/14th April with the venues being the home of the top two finishing teams.

“Tyrrells Premier 15s continues to go from strength to strength and we consider Franklin’s Gardens an excellent venue, demonstrating our commitment to developing women’s rugby in England," said RFU Head of Women’s Performance Nicky Ponsford.

“As the Tyrrells Premier 15s continues to go from strength-to-strength, nurturing new rugby talent, the final will be the culmination of a second exciting season for this leading women’s rugby competition.”

Northampton Saints chief executive Mark Darbon is excited by the opportunity of Franklin's Gardens hosting the final of the Tyrrells Premier 15s.

“We are very proud to be hosting 2018/19 Tyrrells Premier 15s Final at Franklin’s Gardens and look forward to making it a memorable occasion,” said Darbon.

“Women’s rugby continues to thrive across Northamptonshire and the East-Midlands. In August the Club held its first girl’s coaching camp and events like the Redrow Homes Girls 7s are hugely popular.

“We hope that by hosting the women’s showpiece final we will continue to generate interest in the women’s game and drive up participation, whether that’s playing, coaching or volunteering.”

Saracens Women with 15 points are currently at the top of the table and are closely followed by Loughborough Lightning with 14 in the second place.
