Jayden Hayward scored a try in the 78th minute to earn Western Force a 32-29 victory over the Reds in Brisbane that stretched their winning run to four matches.

Hayward converted the try himself to finally seal victory in a game that could have gone either way.

Sias Ebersohn scored four penalties to give Force an early lead but the Reds came back with tries from Ben Tapui and Ben Slipper, both converted, during 10-minute period when Angus Cottrell was in the sin bin.

Ben McCalman scored a try for the Force before half-time and Luke Morahan did the same after the resumption although four Mike Harris penalties put the Reds back ahead, only for Hayward's late show to clinch the game.

The Reds set up one final scoring opportunity but Quade Cooper missed his drop goal as the hooter sounded.

Ebersohn had earlier succeeded with a drop-goal attempt to put Force 29-25 ahead shortly before the thrilling finale.
