Immanuel Feyi-Waboso has been declared fit for Exeter Chiefs ahead of Saturday’s Gallagher Prem final against Northampton Saints at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, handing Rob Baxter a major selection boost.

Immanuel Feyi-Waboso Injury Update

The England international had initially been expected to miss the rest of the domestic season after suffering a facial fracture during Exeter’s win over Leicester last month.

Feyi-Waboso required surgery following the injury, but his recovery has progressed quickly enough for him to return to full training this week.

Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter confirmed that the 23-year-old has been medically cleared to play, although a final selection decision will be made after further discussions with the Exeter and England medical teams.

Baxter said Feyi-Waboso had completed a full training week and that Exeter would make a decision before finalising the team.

“Manny has been declared fit,” said Baxter. “He’s had a full training week and we’ll make that call probably by the end of day today (Thursday).”

The winger’s return would give the Chiefs additional attacking power against Northampton.

Baxter described him as an international-quality player and said having experienced, influential players fit at this point of the campaign was a major positive.

“Without doubt. He’s an international quality player," Baxter added.

“The more players you have fit and available at this stage of the season who have played in big games and you know can have big influences on games, that can only be a very positive thing for us.”
