Exeter Chiefs captain Jack Yeandle has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Sandy Park for a 15th season.

The experienced hooker remains one of the club’s most important figures and his new deal gives Exeter continuity in both leadership and experience.

Jack Yeandle Extends Exeter Chiefs Stay

Yeandle has made more than 325 appearances for Exeter Chiefs and remains one of the defining players of the club’s professional era.

Since first signing in 2012, he has played a major role in the team’s rise and success, including two PREM titles and the Heineken Champions Cup triumph.

The 35-year-old said he was excited to continue with the club, adding that Exeter means a great deal to him and that he still feels he has plenty more to offer both on and off the field.

“I can’t wait to get stuck into another season. Everyone knows how much this club means to me and the chance to continue making new memories at Sandy Park is one I’m really thankful for.

“Leading this team, lifting trophies and making friendships for life has meant so much to me. I still feel like one of the young ones in the changing room, even if the boys like to remind me otherwise! It’s because of that though, that I still feel like I have a lot left to give to the squad, on and off the pitch.

“It’s an honour to be continuing on the journey this team is on and I’m excited to see what we can achieve.”

Jack Yeandle Exeter Chiefs Career Highlights

Yeandle made his Exeter debut against London Welsh in November 2012 and was handed the club captaincy just three years later. Since then, he has led the side through some of the most successful seasons in their history.

He played in every PREM or European final Exeter reached during that period and was part of the squad that completed a historic domestic and European double in 2020.

Exeter Chiefs Keep Experienced Club Captain

This season, Yeandle has featured in 20 matches and continued to play a major part in the team’s performances before injury interrupted his campaign.

Although currently sidelined, Yeandle is expected to return with the same intensity and commitment that have defined his long Chiefs career.
