Crusaders have been dealt another blow in the ongoing Super Rugby Pacific campaign with former All Blacks prop Owen Franks set to face disciplinary hearing.
The 36-year-old was cited after he received a yellow card in the closing stage of the recently concluded Super Rugby game against Hurricanes for a dangerous tackle on Hurricanes loose forward Du’Plessis Kirifi.
He was the second Crusaders player to be yellow carded after Jamie Hannah as they succumbed to a 10-14 defeat making it their worst start to a Super Rugby campaign.
They now have four defeats in as many games as they are languishing at the 11th position.
Crusaders already have lost captain Scott Barrett to a broken finger and has been sidelined for six weeks while Will Jordan and Braydon Ennor will also miss the season due to shoulder and knee injuries respectively.
