Damian McKenzie kicked 15 points as Chiefs completed a 28-10 win over Brumbies in the last round of the Super Rugby 2017 season at FMG Stadium Waikato on Saturday.

McKenzie provided early advantage to Chiefs after he kicked a penalty followed by a converted try to take them to 10-0 but Nigel Ah Wong scored a try of his own to reduce the gap between the two teams to three points.

Mckenzie and his counterpart Wharenui Hawera exchanged penalties just before half time as Chiefs continued to main their lead of three points at half time.

Brumbies suffered a major setback when Tomas Cubelli was sin binned in the 41st minute which was capitalised by Solomona Alaimalo, when he crossed over to increase Chiefs' lead to eight points.

From there on Chiefs looked in total control as Michael Leitch strolled past the post while McKenzie kicked a penalty and a conversion on either side to complete a 18 point victory.

Chiefs finished the group stage with a third position in New Zealand Conference while Brumbies still maintained their top position in Australian Conference.
