Wales fly-half Callum Sheedy is set to miss the upcoming tour of South Africa following an injury setback.

Sheedy sustained the injury during Bristol's final round Premiership game where he left the field in the 37th minute after sustaining a posterior cruciate ligament injury.

According to a report in Wales Online, the 28-year-old will be missing the summer tour of South Africa and is expected to be available in September.

Sheedy kicked three conversions in the game as the Bears went on to win the encounter 28-53 but they narrowly missed out on the play-off spot.

He has played 16 Tests for Wales since making his Test debut in 2020 but missed the Six Nations tournament earlier in the year due to a ligament injury.

Wales will be locking horns with South Africa on 22nd June after which they head to Australia for a two-game Test series against the Wallabies scheduled on 6th and 13th July.
