Bedford Blues Launch New kit for Championship Campaign

Bedford Blues launch new kit for Championship campaign

Bedford Blues are proud to announce that their new kit for the 2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship season will be launched and worn by the players when they face Saracens on Friday night for the final pre-season fixture.

While the design of the new home and away kit had been kept a closely guarded secret, Blues fans will be happy to see the return of Cambridge and Oxford blue hoops. The new, more traditional looking jersey will be available to purchase on the night in the Club Shop from 6pm.

There are some noticeable changes to the design of the new kit including a new main sponsor. Bedford based company Blue Chip - who provide high quality support for IBM mid-range systems and are a leading facilitator in Cloud Computing strategies and virtualisation – have their logo emblazoned on the front of the jerseys which will once again be supplied courtesy of Zoo Sports. Lifesure Insurance and Fire Safety Services will both be sponsoring the back of the new shirts while Charles Wells' Eagle logo will occupy the right arm sleeve. Lifesure Insurance will also take pride of place on the rear of Blues' shorts this season.

Speaking about the new kit, Blues chairman Geoff Irvine said: "I think that everyone will be pleased with our new shirts for the coming season. A lot of hard work has gone into the design by Zoo Sports and ourselves to ensure that the kit is suitable for the players while also being something that our fans will love.

"We are pleased to welcome a brand new sponsor to the front of the shirt as well as two sponsors on the back. Blue Chip, Lifesure Group and Fire Safety Services have been fantastic supporters of the club for many years and I am thrilled that we will continue to work with each other. I would also like to put on record my thanks to Autoglass® for their sponsorship over the last 11 years and we are delighted that they will continue to be associated with the club this season.”

James Nesbitt, Sales Director at Blue Chip added: "Supporting local clubs and charities is something Blue Chip strongly believes in, this is why when the opportunity came to sponsor the Bedford Blues, Blue Chip grasped the chance. Blue Chip have enjoyed a good relationship with Bedford Blues in the past and are proud to reignite this relationship. We are looking forward to the season as well as a long and happy relationship with the club.”

Managing Director of Lifesure Group, Ric Barnes said: "Lifesure Insurance are proud to once again have their name on the Blues shirt and are looking forward to seeing it there in the Championship final.”

David Murfitt, Managing Director of Fire Safety Services, said: "We are delighted to extend our sponsorship of Bedford Blues with a deal to include our logo on the 2014/2015 first team shirts. We are very proud to be associated with Bedford Blues, a unique club with a great future.”

Bedford Blues players will be donning the new kit for the game against Saracens tomorrow night and the kit will be available to buy in the club shop that night or online next week.
