Three More Players Added to Moseley's Squad

Three more Players Added to Moseley's Squad

With the start of league rugby just over a week away we are pleased to confirm three further signings for the 2014/15 season.

Firstly it's a welcome return to the 1st XV squad for Charley Thomas - but in a different role. He joined Moseley in the Under 10s and played in red and black through to Colts. After converting from back row to hooker he joined Worcester's academy and made a handful of 1st XV appearances. He returned to Moseley in 2011 but had difficulty getting a settled 1st XV spell in the number 2 shirt. He moved across the common to Moseley's sister club in Midlands 2 and made an immediate impact back in his preferred position as a wing forward. Two years under the coaching of John White and Richard Protherough sees him back in contention as a back row in the Championship squad.

Charley is joined in the back row by Harry Hone from Avonmouth OB in South West 1. A hard working number 8 Harry was selected to represent Gloucestershire in last season's County Championship. A versatile player Harry can cover across the back and second rows of the pack.

The third new squad member is back three player Louis Roach, a product of Solihull School, who joins from Silhillians. An exciting runner Louis has a strong pedigree in 7s rugby and will be looking to make his mark as an attacking force in the team.

The three players represent the latest in the clubs coaching policy to give opportunities to exciting young prospects, a philosophy which has seen a number of the current squad come to the fore and players develop on to the highest levels of the game.

Moseley play their final pre-season fixture at Billesley Common this Saturday against Ealing Trailfinders (3.00pm) with entry only £5 for adults and U16's free.

The Greene King IPA Championship season then commences with the visit of Jersey to the Common on Saturday 6th September for a 3.00pm kick off.
