Worcester Warriors flanker Alafoti Faosiliva is set to appeal against the red card sanction handed over to him during the Aviva Premiership game against Gloucester at Sixways on Friday.

The Samoa international was sent off by referee Luke Pearce in the 52nd minute of the game for a dangerous tackle on Gloucester lock Mariano Galarza which breaches the law 10.4 (a).

The former Bath Rugby player will now appear before an RFU disciplinary panel in Coventry on 14th September.

The 30-year-old's exit had a significant impact in the game as Gloucester scored two converted tries between the 60th and 70th minute to level the game 23-23 against Worcester Warriors. Earlier, Fa'osiliva was released by Bath following his guilty plea for assaulting a university student in February.

He joined Worcester in 2016 and has played over 30 games in the Aviva Premiership overall and has also earned 18 Test caps for Samoa with his last appearance coming against Tonga in Apia in June.
