Wales have recalled Bath back-row Taulupe Faletau for the remainder of the Six Nations tournament.

The 31-year-old last played for Wales in last year's Six Nations and later was involved with the British and Irish Lions squad for the tour of South Africa.

Faletau was sidelined with an ankle injury that he sustained during the Premiership game against Wasps and was out of action for seven months.

Having successfully made a comeback for Bath in the Gallagher Premiership, he has now been included in the Wales squad replacing Christ Tshiunza, who sustained a hamstring injury.

“Taulupe Faletau (Bath Rugby) has been called up to the Wales senior men’s squad for the remainder of the Guinness Six Nations," read a statement from the Welsh Rugby Union.

"He replaces Christ Tshiunza (Exeter Chiefs), who was released back to his club following a hamstring injury earlier in the Championship.”

Wales will be locking horns with England in the third round at Twickenham Stadium on 26th February. They are positioned fifth in the Six Nations table with a win and a defeat apiece in the two matches.
