Brumbies have confirmed that forward Ben Hyne will rejoin the Super Rugby club ahead of the upcoming competition.

Hyne previously played for Brumbies between 2016 and 2019 before leaving the club following an injury. He was part of the Sunwolves in the 2020 season but the outbreak of the pandemic coronavirus meant the Japanese side could not be part of Australia's local revamped competition due to travel restrictions and logistical reasons.

The decision to re-sign Hyne comes after the Canberra based club lost lock Cadeyrn Neville to injury that will keep him out of the upcoming competition.

"We're super excited to have Ben back at the Plus500 Brumbies," said Brumbies head coach Dan McKellar in a statement released by the club.

"He's a really well liked and respected member of the group and was playing some really great footy for the Sunwolves before the competition was suspended.

"Unfortunately Cadeyrn will miss the start of the new competition but we're confident Hyney will be able to help fill the role.

"Ben's had to deal with a number of serious injuries early on in his career but the resilience he's shown is something we value at the Brumbies and we're looking forward to having him contribute once again to our team."
