TRU Six Pack, Isolation Edition - Charlie Beckett, Jersey Reds

Charlie Beckett

Next to answer our quickfire Isolation Edition questions is Jersey Reds second rower Charlie Beckett.

Home workout routine?
I’m doing a lot of running on the beach and in the sand dunes which are very handy and then a lot of press ups, squats and burpees in the garden along with resistance band and medicine ball work. I’m also trying my hand at some yoga to try and keep stretching and improve flexibility and mobility.

Go-to home cooking/homemade meal?
I’m not going to be getting my Michelin star anytime soon if afraid so I keep it pretty basic. I’d say my best dishes are chilli con carne, spaghetti bolognese and a chicken and chorizo stir fry.

Lounging gear, slouch-wear?
Lounging around the house you will find me in a pair of shorts, some sort of sports shirt, most likely Liverpool Football Club, The Dallas Cowboys or WWE and always my slippers, they are essential!

Chill tunes, books, games, netflix?
To chill I listen to country music, my favourite artist is Luke Bryan but I’ve recently got really into Thomas Rhett.
I love reading, my favourite series is the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child but I’ve recently finished the latest Orphan X book by Gregg Hurwitz which is excellent. I’m currently reading something a little different though, I’m reading ‘The Art of War’ by Tsun Zu.
Netflix is an absolute God send in times like this, I’ve just finished the US Office and I’m now watching suits, I’ve watched the whole second series since social distancing began, I’m a bit addicted!

Take out or beverage you are missing?
To be honest I’m pretty lucky that my family is full of excellent cooks so food wise I’m being very well looked after. We also have endless supplies of coffee and tea in the house to fuel my caffeine addiction so on the drink front I’m happy!

Activity you can't wait to get back to?
I can’t wait to get back to work. I’m really missing seeing all the lads at training day in day out. I’m also missing the normality of having a structured training day and working towards a match at the weekend. It’s massively important we stay safe and take as long as we need to to make sure we save as many lives as possible but my God I’m already missing rugby like mad!
