Tom Cruse extends stay at Wasps

Wasps have announced that hooker Tom Cruse has pledged his immediate future with the club after signing a new deal.

Cruse started his career with Stockport and represented Macclesfield in National Two South before moving to Championship side Rotherham Titans. His consistent performance for Titans saw him even named in the Championship Dream Team following which he made a move to London Irish.

Having represented the Exiles 11 times during the 2015/16 season, he made a switch to rivals Wasps and has made 57 appearances for the Ricoh Arena outfit since then including 41 games int he Premiership.

"Wasps have been great to me and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first three seasons alongside some top blokes," said Cruse to the official website of the club.

“There are a lot of guys who are all signing on the dotted line and we all want to help take this Club to where it belongs at the top and locking horns with the very best in England and Europe.

“Personally, I want to be on the pitch at every opportunity, contributing wherever and whenever I can, and to win trophies in the years to come.”

Cruse now becomes the ninth player to commit to Wasps in recent times and director of rugby Dai Young is delighted with the progress as they look to finish the current season on a high.

“Cruser is a fantastic person and a top player. He always goes out and gives you a 110 per cent and he’s been a consistently reliable performer in the Black and Gold.

“He’s a very well-liked character within the dressing room and to have him sign on for his third contract at Wasps shows that this is a Club he cares about and wants to be a key part of moving forward.”
