TNT Sports has cemented its position as the home of English domestic rugby in the UK and Ireland through new long-term broadcast agreements with Premiership Rugby and Premiership Women’s Rugby.

The multi-year contracts will see TNT Sports continue delivering comprehensive coverage of both the Gallagher Premiership and the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) through the end of the 2030/31 and 2028/29 seasons respectively.

Under the extended deal, every single match of the Gallagher Premiership Rugby season, including the play-offs and the final, will be broadcast live on TNT Sports’ linear TV channels or streaming platform discovery+.

Select fixtures from the Premiership Rugby Cup will also be available. This ensures fans have uninterrupted access to every moment of top-tier domestic rugby for the next six years.

For fans of the women’s game, TNT Sports or discovery+ will air at least one match from every round of the Premiership Women’s Rugby season, including both semi-finals and the final.

This commitment runs until the end of the 2028/29 season, with TNT airing the top pick in each round. The deal also highlights continued efforts to showcase leading female talent, including stars from England’s title-winning Red Roses.

Andrew Georgiou, President and Managing Director of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, expressed pride in the renewed partnerships.

He said TNT Sports was committed to delivering unmatched production quality, top-tier analysis, and strategic promotional support to continue building record-breaking audience numbers across both competitions.

Simon Massie-Taylor, CEO of Premiership Rugby, credited the partnership with helping to bring in over one million new fans, noting TNT’s innovations and high-quality output as key to the competition’s growing popularity.

He highlighted the role of broadcast support in achieving back-to-back sold-out finals and record attendance figures.

Genevieve Shore, Executive Chair of Premiership Women’s Rugby, called the renewed deal a “huge step forward,” emphasizing the importance of weekly live broadcasts in expanding visibility and inspiring future generations of athletes.

She pointed to last season’s dramatic audience growth—including a 156% post-Autumn Nations Series surge and an 86% rise in season averages—as proof of the league’s rising prominence.

This season alone, TNT Sports recorded two of its five highest ever TV audiences for rugby. Following 13 rounds of Gallagher Premiership action, average audiences are up 11% compared to the previous season and 24% compared to 2022-23. Saturday matches that follow Premier League football coverage have seen a 39% boost in viewership.

Meanwhile, the women’s game continues to flourish, with March’s PWR Grand Final between Gloucester-Hartpury and Saracens delivering a 36% increase in viewership over the previous year.

TNT Sports’ rugby portfolio now spans the Gallagher Premiership, Premiership Women’s Rugby, the Autumn Nations Series, and the HSBC SVNS Series, reinforcing its commitment to becoming the definitive destination for world-class rugby coverage.
