Wales back-row Taulupe Faletau is set to make his first appearance for his country in five months in the upcoming autumn international Test against South Africa on Saturday at Millennium Stadium.

The 26-year-old sustained a knee ligament injury while playing for his club Bath in the Aviva Premiership encounter against Northampton Saints in September.

However, he returned to action last Friday for Bath against Bristol and featured for 55 minutes following which he joined the Wales squad on Tuesday.

After missing the November Tests against Australia, Argentina and Japan, he is likely to be named in the starting XV for the South African clash which might push Ross Moriarty to blindside flanker alongside Faletau .

However, in the probability of Faletau used off the bench then Warburton will move to blindside and Justin Tipuric will reclaim the number seven spot after missing the game against Japan.

Wales assistant coach Neil Jenkins said: "I think Toby (Faletau) is just a ridiculously good rugby player.

"Watching him in training, he looks like he hasn't been out (injured). He is a class act, a world-class number eight, one of the best on the planet.

"For us to have him fit and back in the mix and back training is a fantastic addition to our squad."

Despite having a poor record against South Africa, Wales will fancy their chances considering the recent form of Springboks. They are yet to win a game in the European tour after a draw against Barbarians, they lost both to England and Italy.

Springboks assistant coach Matt Proudfoot wants his team to finish the tour on a high with a win over Wales but is wary of the challenge ahead.

"We are looking first for improvements in execution. The players' natural response will be to make a statement, but we need to make sure we focus on execution and skills.

"We feel we can put them (Wales) under pressure in a couple of areas, and we will be focusing on those. But we need to improve.

"They've got some good leadership in their pack, and it will be interesting to see if Faletau starts. He's got a lot of experience, and Warburton is a world-class player.

"We just focus on the challenge at the weekend. What has happened before doesn't matter.

"They are a side that is well coached, they're experienced, they've got a very settled back-line. We are expecting a tough challenge."
