Schedule and Pools for HSBC London Sevens unveiled

The schedule and pools for the London leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series were unveiled on Tuesday with table leaders Fiji 7s grouped with New Zealand 7s in Pool A.

Scotland and Argentina will form the remainder of Pool A while Pool B consists of Australia, Wales, Spain and Ireland. England will be in Pool C that also has Kenya, USA and France and South Africa, who are four points behind Fiji in the overall standings find themselves in Pool D that has Samoa, Canada and Russia.

World Rugby Chairman Bill Beaumont expressed his excitement about the prospect of sevens competition.

"This year’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series has been one of the most competitive yet, in what has been an exciting year for sevens with the Commonwealth Games recently taking place, and sevens’ flagship event Rugby World Cup Sevens still to come in July in San Francisco.

"As teams enter into the penultimate round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, we are looking forward to watching a spectacular display of fast-paced, high-octane rugby at Twickenham Stadium."

Scotland were the winners of the London leg of the 2016/17 World Rugby Sevens Series with host England finishing runners-up.

The games will be played on 2nd and 3rd June with Twickenham being the venue.
