Saracens 29-21 Leicester Tigers

Saracens maintained their winning streak across all the competitions as they went on to beat Leicester Tigers 29-21 in their Premiership Rugby Cup opener at Allianz Park on Saturday.

Joe Ford kicked a third minute penalty goal to begin the proceedings for the Tigers but five minutes later Saracens claimed the lead when Schalk Burger crossed over.

After Ford and Max Malins traded penalties, the Leicester Tigers kicked another three-pointer to provide them a 8-9 lead but Saracens bounced with a touchdown from Sione Vailanu just before the break as the scoreline became 13-9.

The home side stepped up the accelerator in the second half through Joel Kpoku, who dotted down and Malins kicked a conversion and followed it with two penalties to stretch their lead to 26-9.

David Feao and Harry Wells scored tries in the final quarter for the Tigers but their effort were not quite enough as they succumbed to an eight point defeat.

The win meant Saracens end the first round at second position in Pool 2 with Leicester Tigers are at third place.
