Colin Slade starred with two converted tries as Pau have kept their quarter-final hopes alive after defeating Worcester Warriors 21-6 in their European Challenge Cup encounter at Stade du Hameau on Friday.

Despite the defeat, the Warriors are at the top of Pool 2 with nine points while Pau are at second with eight points.

Slade produced a dream start for Pau as he crossed over in the second minute and also added the conversion as the home side took a 7-0 lead.

Jamie Shillcock responded back for the Warriors with back to back penalties in the 10th and 28th minutes as the gap between the two teams came down to one point heading into the break.

The second half started similar to the first half as Slade contributed with a converted try in the 43rd minute to stretch Pau's lead to eight points before scrum-half Julien Blanc crossed over late to help the French side complete a 21-6 win.

The two teams will meet once again on 15th December at Sixways in the next round of the tournament.
