Scorecard

A livid Todd Blackadder summarised his team's laid-back performance against Newcastle as “pathetic” with 29-12 loss at Kingston Park on Friday.

“I can only apologise for a poor performance,” said the Bath director of rugby. “We let the supporters down. They deserve better than that. That was a pathetic performance.”

The Falcons took a whopping 21-0 lead by the half-time after tries by Sinoti Sinoti (4), Toby Flood (14) and Kyle Cooper (35) with Flood managing to convert all three tries.

Cooper Vuna (45) opened the Bath account in the second-half with Freddie Burns slotting the conversion. However, five minutes later, Vereniki Goneva (50) added another try to Falcons' account and a penalty from Flood on the 75th minute sealed the proceedings for the Falcons despite a late try by Anthony Perenise (80).

The Falcons with this bonus-point win have now boosted their hopes to play the Premiership play-off.
