Sale Sharks 10-24 Saracens, AJ Bell Stadium
Scorecard

England international Owen Farrell contributed with 19 points as Saracens maintained their unbeaten streak in this season of European Champions Cup after beating Sale Sharks by 10-24 at AJ Bell Stadium on Sunday.

The game also saw former Castleford Tigers wing Denny Solomona making his debut for Sale Sharks.

The first half was closely competed with Farrell kicking two penalties on either side of his counterpart AJ MacGinty's penalty in the 27th minute. Saracens went into half-time after managing a slender lead of three points.

The second half saw Sale Sharks punished for their reckless play with three of their players sin-binned.

Hooker Rob Webber (44'), lock Bryn Evans (56') and number eight TJ Ioane (67') were the players yellow-carded which meant the home team had to play most of the second half with one man short.

Farrell made full use of the advantage as he amassed two penalties and a converted try to take Saracens out of the woods and replacement Nathan Earle's 77th minute touch down ensured the game was out of Sale Sharks' reach.

Even though, Evans gave Sale Sharks a glimmer of hope when he rumbled past the post in 78th minute, they succumbed to a 14-point defeat which was also their fourth in the tournament in as many games.
