Saracens have confirmed the return of their iconic fly-half Owen Farrell, who will rejoin the club ahead of the 2025–26 season on a two-year contract.
Farrell returns following a one-year stint with French side Racing 92, marking a full-circle moment in a career that began with Saracens nearly two decades ago.
The 32-year-old first joined Saracens’ academy in his teens and debuted just days before his 17th birthday.
Over the following 16 years, Farrell became the beating heart of the club, helping Saracens to six Premiership titles and three European trophies.
With 256 appearances, he is the club’s all-time leading points scorer and one of the most decorated players in its history.
“Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously,” Farrell said.
“Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can’t wait to get back in the mix for the 25/26 season.”
Farrell’s return is not just symbolic—it signals a renewed focus for Saracens as they look to blend seasoned leadership with a new generation of players.
Saracens’ Director of Rugby Mark McCall welcomed Farrell’s return warmly, describing his impact as foundational.
“Owen has Saracens in his DNA; his competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club, and we are delighted he has chosen to come home,” said McCall.
“He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed.”
While the current deal is purely as a player, many observers expect Farrell to naturally transition into a leadership or coaching role within the Saracens setup. His return offers mentorship for rising stars and helps reinforce the club's culture of excellence.
