Ulster Rugby has announced that back-row star Nick Timoney has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at Kingspan Stadium until at least the summer of 2026.

This move cements Timoney’s integral role in the team and highlights the club’s commitment to retaining top talent.

Since joining Ulster Rugby in 2016, Timoney has become a key figure in the squad, earning 129 appearances and amassing 135 points. Known for his dynamic playing style and relentless work rate, the 28-year-old has made a significant impact in both domestic and European competitions.

Timoney’s consistent performances have not gone unnoticed. He earned his first Ireland cap in July 2021 and has since represented his country on nine occasions.

Reflecting on his decision to renew his contract, Timoney expressed his enthusiasm for the journey ahead: “This club means everything to me, and I’m proud to continue wearing the Ulster jersey.

"There’s so much potential in this squad, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together over the next few years.”

Ulster Rugby’s Head Coach, Dan McFarland, welcomed the news, emphasizing Timoney’s importance to the team’s future.

“Nick is not only a phenomenal athlete but also a leader who sets the standard both on and off the pitch. His commitment to Ulster reflects the ambition of this club to compete at the highest level.”
