Newcastle Falcons have confirmed that centre Max Clark will remain with the club until at least the end of the current season.

The 29-year-old initially joined on a short-term deal in mid-December and made an immediate impact, scoring on his Gallagher Premiership debut against Bristol Bears. His contributions have since helped the team progress to the quarter-finals of the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Clark, who has previously played for Bath, Dragons, and Cardiff, has embraced his time at Newcastle and is eager to continue contributing to the club’s ongoing development.

Expressing his gratitude for the chance to extend his stay, Clark reflected on his journey with the Falcons.

“I’m very grateful to Newcastle for taking a chance on me during what was a difficult period of my career, and I’ve loved my time up here so far.

"The lads have been class in welcoming me into the group, I’m enjoying the coaching here and the wider staff at the club have also been really good.”

He also praised the direction the club is heading in and is optimistic about the remainder of the season.

“It feels like the Falcons are moving in a positive direction, Newcastle is a great city and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve during the rest of the season.”

Newcastle’s director of rugby, Steve Diamond, commended Clark’s contributions since his arrival, emphasizing his experience and character.

“Max has fitted straight in here and done really well in his short time with us. He’s got loads of top-level experience which is very obvious when he plays, and he’s a great character around the place.”

Diamond also expressed his satisfaction with securing Clark’s services for the rest of the campaign. “I’m glad that we’ve been able to extend his contract until at least the end of this season, and I’m looking forward to seeing his continued positive impact.”
