Dragons RFC have confirmed that young prop Jordan Morris has signed a Senior Academy contract ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The 21-year-old, who has represented Wales at Under-20 level, recommits to the club as he continues his path toward a full professional breakthrough.
A product of Croesyceiliog RFC, Morris has also played for Pontypool RFC and emerged as a standout during his development.
Originally a back rower, his successful transition to the front row has made him a versatile and valuable asset to the Dragons setup.
During his school rugby days, he set an impressive record with 27 tries in 20 games for Pontypool Schools, surpassing the previous mark held by Taulupe Faletau.
“I’ve re-signed with Dragons as I feel it’s the best place for me to continue my development into professional rugby,” said Morris.
“After missing most of the season due to injury, I’m eager to get back on the pitch, make an impact and continue growing as a player.”
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Forwards Coach Sam Hobbs, who I worked with at Wales Under-20s, while I’ve also had coaching from Ceri Jones as I come back from injury and I will be seeing a lot of him during my time in the SRC next season.”
Dragons Academy Manager Lewis Roberts welcomed the young prop’s decision to remain with the club.
“We’re delighted that Jordan has committed his future to Dragons RFC,” Roberts said.
“Jordan is a talented rugby player with huge athletic potential, and we look forward to continuing to support his development over the next number of years.”
“After what has been a difficult season with injuries, we are all excited to see Jordan play during the 2025/26 season.”
“Jordan is a young man with a bright future and it’s great that he will be a Dragon for a number of years to come.”
Morris now joins a growing list of academy players committing to the Dragons, including Evan Minto, Nick Thomas, Harry Rees-Weldon, and Logan Franklin, along with newcomers Codi Purnell and James Talamai.
