Munster Rugby and the Irish Rugby Football Union have confirmed that loosehead prop Jeremy Loughman has signed a new two-year contract extension that will keep him at the province until the summer of 2028.
The 29-year-old has become a key figure for Munster since joining from the Leinster Academy in December 2017.
He made his provincial debut within weeks of arriving, featuring against Ulster on New Year’s Day 2018, and has gone on to make 127 appearances, scoring six tries.
Loughman quickly established himself as a regular during the 2018/19 season, reaching 50 caps by May 2021.
His consistent form earned international recognition, with his first Ireland call-up coming during the 2022 Six Nations. He later featured against the Maori All Blacks on Ireland’s summer tour of New Zealand and made his senior international debut against Fiji in November 2022.
He played a central role in Munster’s 2023 URC title success, starting all three knockout matches, and later featured at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Loughman reached the 100-cap milestone for Munster in April 2024 and was part of Ireland’s 2024 Six Nations-winning squad.
After an injury-hit campaign last season, he has returned strongly and has already made 12 appearances this term, earning selection for Ireland ahead of the upcoming Six Nations.
