Munster Rugby has confirmed that Craig Casey has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the province until at least 2028.

Casey has been a regular presence since making his debut against Connacht in 2019. He has now made over 100 appearances for Munster, scoring 22 tries across those games.

He also captained Munster for the first time earlier this season in the opening round of the URC.

On the international stage, Casey has captained Ireland on the 2025 Summer tour, leading them to victories against Georgia and Portugal. He featured in the 2023 Rugby World Cup and was part of Ireland’s Six Nations-winning squad in 2024.

Casey first gained attention as Academy Player of the Year in 2019 and later won Munster’s Young Player of the Year award in 2021. His rapid rise through academy, provincial and international rugby was highlighted further during the 2022/23 season when he won the URC title with Munster and the Grand Slam with Ireland.

Last season he was a try-scorer in the Champions Cup knock-out win away to La Rochelle and reached his 100th Munster appearance in the victory over Benetton in May 2025.
