Hurricanes 41-22 Stormers, Westpac Stadium
Scorecard

Hurricanes came up with a seven try performance as they defeated Stormers by 41-22 in their Super Rugby encounter at Westpac Stadium on Friday.

This is Hurricanes' eighth win this season from nine matches and they are placed second in New Zealand Conference while Stormers maintain their position at top of Africa 1 Conference despite their fourth successive defeat.

Robert du Preez got the visitors off the mark with a fourth minute penalty but Hurricanes replied back strong with touchdowns from Cory Jane (9'), Jordie Barrett (15') and Julian Savea (23').

Even though, replacement Ramone Samuels scored the first try for Stormers in the 26th minute, Jordie responded with his second try to maintain 22-10 lead for Hurricanes. A double penalty from fullback SP Marais helped Stormers reduce the trail to 12 points at the end of the first half.

Marais continued on the momentum in the second half with two more penalties as the scores were levelled at the end of the third quarter.

However, despite a sin-bin to Brad Shields, Hurricanes dominated the final quarter with a double from Ngani Laumape and a try from Beauden Barrett in the added minutes to complete a 41-22 victory.
