Hurricanes' Sam Louisi sidelined for lengthy period with pectoral injury

Hurricanes lock Sam Louisi has been sidelined for a lengthy period after he suffered a pectoral injury ahead of the 2019 season of Super Rugby.

The 27-year-old will be assessed in the coming weeks to find the extent of damage but Hurricanes assistant coach Jason Holland revealed that the injury is not short-term.

“We’ll work through that in the next couple of days and see where that’s going to go, but he’s definitely not a short-term injury,” Holland told Stuff.

“He’s done his pec, just how serious that is we’re figuring out.”

Hurricanes will kick-start their 2019 Super Rugby campaign with a clash against New South Wales Waratahs on Saturday at Brookvale Oval.
