Gloucester have confirmed that centre Tom Hudson has penned a new deal with the English Premiership club.

The 23-year-old made his debut for the club in the Aviva Premiership in November last year and overall has made six appearances in the league.

Hudson believes his time with Gloucester will give him the perfect opportunity to propel his career.

“I’m chuffed to be staying at the club, I’ve really enjoyed my rugby and know that we have a lot of exciting times ahead.

“Johan has been true to his word that he will put faith in younger players when appropriate, and I’ve enjoyed my development across the season and taking my opportunities.

“It’s a great environment to be in, challenging players to get better every day, and I’m where I want to be.

“The supporters have been fantastic to play in front of, and I’m excited to keep doing that going forward.”

Meanwhile, Director of Rugby David Humphreys is delighted with the news and believes flexibility as the key attribute of Hudson.

“Tom has been an important member of our squad this season, and we’re delighted that we have agreed a deal for him to stay with us to continue his development at Gloucester.

“He has taken every challenge head on, and has looked comfortable playing in several positions across the backline, and this and this is important in terms of giving us strength and depth in the squad.”
