Wallabies flanker Fraser McReight has signed a three-year contract extension with Rugby Australia and the Queensland Reds, securing his place in Australian rugby until the end of 2028.

McReight expressed his satisfaction with the new contract, stating, "I'm very happy to have my contract resolved for the next three years. I can concentrate on those good times ahead with the Reds, the Wallabies, and my teammates."

While acknowledging interest from international clubs, he reaffirmed his loyalty, saying, "There were other offers, but my heart has always been with the Reds and the Wallabies."

At 26 years old, McReight has already earned 25 Test caps and is expected to play a key role in upcoming major tournaments, including the British & Irish Lions tour in 2025 and the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

His decision to stay follows similar contract extensions by Reds teammates Harry Wilson, Matt Faessler, and Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, further strengthening the future of both Queensland and the national squad.

Queensland Reds coach Les Kiss praised McReight’s influence, stating, "Fraser is not only one of the world's best openside flankers, but he also sets high standards for himself and those around him. His decision to stay is a massive boost for the team."

McReight highlighted the exciting opportunities ahead for Australian rugby and his desire to be part of its resurgence.

"There are some huge events coming up. We are rebuilding, and I want to be part of something special."
