Fletcher Anderson has signed a new contract with Scarlets, extending his stay in West Wales after making a strong impact since arriving from New Zealand in November.
The 23-year-old No. 8 has quickly become one of the most influential members of the squad and his decision to stay is a major boost for the club’s long-term plans.

Anderson has established himself as one of the standout back-row forwards in the United Rugby Championship since joining the Scarlets.
His performances in both league and European competition have helped him become a central figure in the squad in a short period of time.
Scarlets No 8 Makes Big URC Impact
The New Zealand Schools international has made an immediate impression with his carrying, defensive work and consistency.
He is currently among the top performers in the URC for carries and defenders beaten, while also ranking strongly for gainline success and tackles completed.
His influence has also been reflected in recent captaincy duties against Connacht and Leinster, underlining how quickly he has earned the trust of coaches and team-mates.
West Wales Move Continues To Deliver
Before joining Scarlets, Anderson came through the Crusaders Academy and made his Super Rugby Pacific debut in 2025.
He also enjoyed a standout campaign with Tasman Makos, where he collected major end-of-season honours. Since moving to Wales, he has become a favourite with supporters and has won three straight player-of-the-month awards.
Anderson said the sense of direction at the club and the support from fans made the decision to stay an easy one, as he looks to help drive Scarlets forward.
“The support here has been incredible. Scarlets are extremely proud and passionate, they care deeply about the club and that gives you real motivation every time you pull on the shirt.
“You want to represent that properly – and that’s a big part of why I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
