Sale Sharks have confirmed that England international Denny Solomona has penned a four-year contract with the Aviva Premiership club.

Solomona switched code from rugby league to union in 2016 when he joined the AJ Bell Stadium outfit and went on to become an integral part of the club scoring 11 tries from 16 appearances that saw him make his debut for England during their summer tour of Argentina last year.

"I'm really pleased to have signed an extended contract with Sale," said Solomona.

"There couldn't be a better environment for me to play my rugby.

"Dimes [Steve Diamond, Sale's director of rugby] and all the coaches have all been great and I'm very excited about the future here with a great bunch of guys."

Solomona, who scored a record-breaking 37th try in a single Super League season in Castleford's Super 8s win over Catalans has played two Tests for Eddie Jones' side and scored a try coming off the bench in his first game at San Juan.

"Denny has really enjoyed his time here and we thought it was right to offer him another long-term deal so we are delighted he has signed," said Diamond.

"He is a world-class finisher and a thoroughly great lad who is on the verge of playing for England all the time and he's really great asset to have around."
