Lions have confirmed that South Africa international Elton Jantjies and Lionel Mapoe have penned new deals with the Super Rugby club.
Both the players played a pivotal role in Lions reaching the finals of Super Rugby in the last three seasons and are currently training with Rassie Erasmus' squad for the Rugby Championship opener against Argentina.
Jantjies' youth career started with Golden Lions in 2006 and his Super Rugby debut came five years later. He has racked up over 100 appearances for the Johannesburg outfit and also enjoyed a short loan stint with Stormers in 2013. The 28-year-old has also played 26 Tests for South Africa between 2012 and 2018.
Meanwhile, Mapoe joined Lions from Cheetahs in 2011 and also has experience of playing for Bulls and Kubota Spears. He has made 12 appearances at international level between 2015 and 2017.
