Newport Gwent Dragons 22 - 7 Worcester Warriors, Rodney Parade
Scorecard

Newport Gwent Dragons had to hold off a stiff fight from 14-men Worcester Warriors as they defeated them 22-7 to keep their chances alive in the European Rugby Challenge Cup at Rodney Parade on Friday.

Fly-half Connor Braid started the game well for the Warriors with a converted try in the second minute but the scores were levelled five minutes later when Dragons scrum half Tavis Knoyle and fly half Angus O'Brien scored a try and a conversion respectively.

Things did not help much for the Warriors when flanker Sam Betty was sin-binned for a slapping incident in the 14th minute following which they turned aggressive. Flanker Ollie Griffiths was sin-binned in the 18th minute for collapsing a maul bringing both teams down to 14-men temporarily following which a penalty from O'Brien took the home side to a three-point lead at half-time.

After close to 26 minutes without a point scored, Wales centre Morgan, straightaway created impact after he replaced Geraint Jones with a 50th minute try.

Prop Sam Hobbs closed the shutter for Worcester Warriors when he went past the line in the 57th minute and O'Brien adding the conversion to secure a 15-point victory for the home side.

Dragons are placed second in Pool 3 after the win while Worcester Warriors are languishing at the bottom of the table.
