Scorecard

Cam Dolan scored a hat-trick as the USA completed a 17-42 win over Canada in Halifax on Saturday.

The win capped off a fantastic season for USA after they registered wins over Russia and Scotland in the earlier weeks.

After the first 15 minutes went without a point, Shane O'Leary kicked a 17th minute penalty goal to get Canada off the mark but USA responded back with a touchdown from Cam Dolan in the 21st minute.

Winger Nate Augspurger dotted down in the 35th minute after Aj MacGinty kicked a penalty goal as USA ended the first half with a 3-13 lead.

USA were quick to get off the block in the second half with Dolan's second try in the 46th minute but lock Evan Olmstead led Canada's response to reduce the arrears to 10 points.

As the final quarter kicked-off, USA had a 10-23 lead and they upped the ante in the final 12 minutes with tries from Dolan (69'), Blaine Scully (73') and Rube de Haas (79') to complete a 17-42 victory despite a 77th minute consolation try for Canada from Jeff Hassler.
