Wales international hooker Dewi Lake will join Gloucester Rugby from the Ospreys ahead of the 2026/27 season, the club has confirmed.
Lake will be reunited at Kingsholm with fellow Wales forward Jac Morgan, who is also set to make the move from the Ospreys.
Born in Bridgend, Lake has been a key figure for the Ospreys, making more than 70 appearances across the United Rugby Championship and European competitions.
Lake first came to prominence at age-grade level, earning his initial Wales Under-20 cap in 2018. He captained the side at the 2019 World Rugby Under-20 Championship, where Wales recorded a notable 8–7 victory over New Zealand.
Lake was first called into the senior Wales squad in 2020 but made his Test debut during the 2022 Six Nations against Ireland. Since then, he has established himself at international level, earning 26 caps.
His Wales career has included a landmark victory over South Africa on tour and involvement in the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where he shared co-captaincy duties with Jac Morgan.
“I had a really good chat with the Club about their ambitions and how I could play a part in that, and it got me really excited for the challenge ahead," he told the official website of Gloucester.
“I’ve always admired Gloucester for the way they play. I feel like it’s suited to my strengths and the way I like to play the game.
“The Gallagher PREM is probably the most competitive league in the world, and I feel like I'm at a good stage in my career to take the opportunity with both hands.”
