Scarlets 22-22 Saracens, Parc y Scarlets
Scorecard

Chris Ashton scored two tries including one in the extra minutes as Saracens made an incredible comeback to draw the game 22-22 against Scarlets in the European Champions Cup encounter at Parc y Scarlets on Sunday.

The result also means the defending champions Saracens have qualified for the next stage while Scarlets are out of the quarter-finals despite a heroic effort on Sunday.

Even though Saracens wing Nathan Earle scored the opening try, Scarlets fly-half Dan Jones contributed with three penalties as the Welsh side gained a four-point lead at half-time.

Jones extended Scarlets advantage in the second half with his fourth penalty in the 46th minute but Ashton opened his account with a 46th minute cross over allowing Owen Farrell to add the extras and the scores were levelled at 12-12 by the 50th minute.

Scarlets once again seized the advantage through Scott Williams, who strolled past the post in the 52nd minute allowing Jones to add the conversion.

Saracens were trailing by seven points heading into the final 10 minutes and Farrell reduced it to four points with a penalty kick in the 71st minute but Jones was equal to the task as he negated it two minutes later with his fifth penalty in the game.

Saracens were in real danger when replacement Will Skelton was sin-binned in the 77th minute for a slap on James Davies but Ashton and Farrell combined to score a try and a conversion in the extra minutes to ensure a draw for the Allianz Park outfit.
