Bristol Bears have confirmed that experienced full back Rich Lane has signed a new contract with the Gallagher Premiership club.

Lane joined Bristol Bears in 2022 and has made 34 appearances for the club since then. He also started in 16 out of 18 games for the club this season scoring eight tries.

Prior to joining Bristol, the 30-year-old played for Bath between 2011 and 2015 and also had stints with Jersey Reds and Bedford Blues.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Bears and I’m very pleased to have extended my stay with the club," he told the club's official website.

"After such a strong finish to last season, I’m excited by what we can achieve in 2024/25 and looking forward to contributing to our team goals.”

Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam is pleased with Lane remaining committed to the club.

“Laner is an experienced and accomplished full back with excellent game understanding and leadership. His ability to also play as a left footed left wing gives us real depth and versatility in our back three.

“Since arriving from Bedford, he has grown and developed his game and delivered some impressive performances for the Bears. We’re pleased that he’ll continue to improve his game with the club.”
