The Ospreys have confirmed that tighthead prop Ben Warren has signed a new contract with the club, extending his stay after a breakout season that has solidified his place as one of Welsh rugby’s most promising young front rowers.

The 24-year-old has been praised for his dynamic work rate and mobility—key assets that have helped him rack up 32 appearances for the regional side.

Still relatively young for a player in such a physically demanding position, Warren has already caught the attention of national selectors.

He was named in the most recent Wales Guinness Six Nations squad and previously represented his country 15 times at U20 level, a testament to his long-standing potential.

“I’m really happy to be continuing my career with the Ospreys. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some quality, experienced front rowers and been coached by Dunc (Duncan Jones), who has played an important role in my development.

"There’s some great competition at tight head and we all push ourselves in training, which is what you want. The next step for me, on a personal note, is to get as much rugby under my belt as I can and to keep improving.”

The coaching team at Ospreys has expressed their belief in Warren’s trajectory, viewing him as a central figure in the club’s long-term forward plans.

His continued development under the guidance of experienced coaches, especially former Welsh international Duncan Jones, is seen as crucial to both his individual growth and the team’s future strength in the front row.

Head coach Mark Jones emphasised the value of retaining Warren as part of the Ospreys' forward unit.

“We have high hopes for Ben, so it’s great to have him commit his future to the club. He’s already beginning to show the qualities of a top-class tighthead and we’re excited to see how he builds on that going forward.

"I know Dunc sees Ben as a strong prospect in our front row, and I’m confident that he will continue to develop under his stewardship, as so many of our front rowers have in recent years.”
