Ospreys Rugby have officially announced the departure of Head Coach Toby Booth with immediate effect.
Booth, who joined the Welsh club in 2020, leaves after a successful tenure marked by notable achievements.
Under Booth’s leadership, the Ospreys achieved considerable milestones, including winning the URC Welsh Shield twice, in the 2021/22 and 2023/24 seasons. He also guided the team to the EPCR Challenge Cup quarter-finals and secured a spot in the URC Play-offs during the 2023/24 campaign.
His efforts to rebuild and strengthen the squad saw Ospreys remain competitive in both domestic and European competitions, earning praise for their resilience and improved performance over recent seasons.
The club expressed its gratitude for Booth’s dedication and contributions, saying, “Ospreys would like to thank Toby for his commitment and contributions to the club during his time in charge and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
With Booth stepping down, former Wales international Mark Jones will take over as interim Head Coach with immediate effect.
Jones, supported by the current coaching staff and management team, will look to maintain the team’s upward trajectory as they navigate the remainder of the season.
Jones, who has previous coaching experience at both club and international levels, will be tasked with ensuring a smooth transition while continuing Ospreys’ push for success in the United Rugby Championship and European competitions.
