Worcester Warriors wing Tom Biggs has announced his retirement from professional rugby with immediate effect.

The decision follows after the 33-year-old failed to make sufficient progress from a long-standing knee injury, thereby ending a 13 year career.

Biggs' professional rugby debut came in 2004 with Yorkshire Carnegie following which he enjoyed stints with Newcastle Falcons and Bath Rugby. His move to the Sixways outfit came in 2014 and overall has played 135 English Premiership games in which he scored 32 tries.

"After a lengthy rehab process with numerous operations, I had hoped to return to play and am very disappointed that this will not be possible," Biggs said on Twitter.
